OCULAR DISEASE:  DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT

As your eyecare provider, Dr. Beach will diagnose and treat conditions that may affect the front part of the eye, such as:

  • Eye infections
  • Eye allergies
  • Dry Eye Syndrome
  • Contact Lens Related Red Eye

These conditions may require Dr. Beach to prescribe medications and to monitor you closely for any changes that may threaten long term eye health.

Careful examination of the inside part of your eyes is extremely important in the detection and treatment of diseases such as:

  • Glaucoma
  • Cataracts
  • Detachments of the Retina
  • Macular Degeneration
  • Tumors of the eye

Likewise, a number of general health conditions have a high risk for serious eye complications. If you have any of the following, Dr. Beach recommends annual eye examinations to monitor for complications:

  • Diabetes
  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol
  • Blood disorders such as Anemia or Sickle Cell
  • Arthritis
  • Stroke
  • Thyroid Disease

Unfortunately, many eye diseases only produce symptoms late in the process once permanent damage has taken place. Proper and thorough eye examinations on a yearly basis are the best way to detect issues early and prevent permanent vision loss.
